Maybe it’s part psychological, but I enjoy this strange snack bar.  It’s sticky, spicy, and nutty.  It’s not sweet.  It tastes like dinner food.  Which is why it’s psychological, maybe. Recently, I turned to eating these while on vacation.

My family eats cereal, spaghetti, more spaghetti, pizza, candy…. And I just can’t eat all of the carbs.  So I eat less, and then after the regular family meal, I eat one of these high protein bars.  (Or, sometimes, I eat it before the meal.)  At over 200 calories and only 15 carbs, it’s my kind of diet food.  If you’re looking for a meal replacement bar, you might be pleasantly surprised with this one.

On the packaging, it says “Strong” really big, and I have to say that too many carbs make me feel ill, so I’ll eat something that subtly promises me strength, because I want a strong mood.  I want energy and ambition.  Strength can be interpreted in many ways.

I usually buy Kind bars at Costco or Amazon, but I found a stash of these at my local Marshalls recently. If you have a Marshalls nearby, you should check out the back of their store for deep discounts on gourmet foods. I've also found ghirardelli chocolate there too. Sometimes, the dates are close to the best buy dates, so if you want a long shelf, it's better to buy on Amazon.
